Who is Ian K?

As a part of Hardscience Recordings, Ian K has always worked hard to bring hardcore to the people. After many years on the Mic as MC Verbal, Ian K stepped from behind the DJ to behind a computer, banging out his take on UK Hardcore.

Influenced by the frantic vibe of upfront hardcore and the euphoric riffs in Freeform, Ian K. is constantly on the search for new sounds, new influences and new directions. As both an MC and a Producer, Ian is dedicated to pushing Stateside Hardcore.

So last night marked the start of the Podcast Hotel, we couldn't stay too long, but we already got to meet some cool folks. Here's a photo of my main man Brent who is the one responsible for Hardscience being involved with Podcast Hotel.

Tonight is the Electronic Music Lounge, featuring Jacob London, +Russ and Ryan Alexander. Hopefully I'll have a ton of photos to show off tomorrow, and maybe even a few interviews.

Whats going on folks? After the three day weekend I have my work cut out for me. The next two weeks are going to be hectic, but it'll all be worth it. Coming in on his usual 4PM British Air Flight this Thursday is my best friend MikeMC, who will be in town for both the Podcast Hotel and some other conference in Seattle.

So the day after Mike gets in, I have the Podcast Hotel Electronic Music night which should be a lot of fun, Alex is in town all this week and he and I are meeting tonight to put the final touches on Friday night.

Next week should be fairly light, but with Mike in town I am sure there will be a lot of boozin' and partyin'. Then that Friday the 3rd is my friends wedding that I am doing the music at, then the next morning I fly down to LA to do a Live PA.

Hectic? Yes. But it sure beats being bored!

Finally, got tunes in the car!

Finally got a new stereo for my car installed this weekend. It has been about 5 months since my car stereo went out, and in that time I nearly went mental when driving for work (Shoreline to Auburn is a haul without tunes). Now I have a nice new deck that plays mp3's sounds great and works like a charm. I am just loving driving again! It also means that I can get back to listening to more mixes while driving, which usually means more inspiration to write. All of this should mean that there will be no shortage of new tunes in the coming months.Just this past week I got asked to play for Adam Sin's event, Hardstyle Nation, March 31st, putting my March bookings to the maximum and getting me into April, which is when Dance 3 takes place. My current plan is to work hard through the April bookings, focusing on writing new tracks for the label and collaborating with more local artists. There are two in particular that I am currently working on that I am very pleased with. After April I will probably pull back on bookings and writing to concentrate on some other projects. Give me some time to breathe so to speak before diving back into things as summer moves on.
